Australia’s brunch-cafe ‘Breakfast Thieves’ now open at APW, Bangsar

If you have been around Australia, especially the suburb of Fitzroy, then ‘Breakfast Thieves’ is definitely not an unfamiliar name as the brunch cafe has been established back in 2012 and has been receiving good feedbacks ever since.

The founders have just opened their 2nd outlet 3 days ago and it’s located at the new and upcoming F&B cluster in APW, Bangsar. (Basically it’s right next to PULP lah).

The glasshouse-like establishment is definitely going to attract Instagrammers and basically, anyone who loves natural lighting.

When I was there, I couldn’t stop admiring the architecture and interior design combo cos it’s so Instagrammable! This stretch of outdoor seats will definitely be one of the attractions for patrons who love taking group photos 🙂

As the board says, be prepared to queue as the crowd is crazy especially during peak hours (that’s basically lunch time on weekdays and full day on weekends.)

Interior design on point. High ceilings, white tilings, light brown wooden furniture, etc etc.

Let’s jump straight to the food! The options are actually very limited, with only about 7 breakfast sets on the menu.
This was LEPRECHAUN. Crisp sweet corn & zucchini fritters with creamed mushroom, pickled radish, avocado mousse and poached eggs. RM25. For a vegetarian dish, this is very flavorful and the portion is just right.

GYPSY KING: Garlic rosemary polenta bars with beetroot and citrus salmon trout, cauliflower & parmesan puree, roasted mushroom, onion & poached eggs. We felt that this dish lack of a ‘main cast’ and every ingredients seems to be chopped and ‘thrown’ onto the plate. Taste was OK. I wouldn’t recommend ordering this. RM29.

THE LEGEND:Spicy baked eggs with beef salami, okra, caramelised onion jam, mushroom, sweet corn, basil oil with herb garlic toast. Everything tasted great here, especially the toasts. According to the team, this item has been localised, hence you will taste a bit of ‘Malaysia’ here. Wish the portion was bigger (or at least an extra slice of toast). RM25.

Note that their kitchen closes at 4PM daily and since it’s packed everyday, it’s better if you arrive earlier. There’s ample of waiting space so you can walk around and take photos first while waiting for your name to be called.
