Food at Gardens Cafe

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Now that Hatyai is done, let’s get back to our regular programming. :D

Months back, we went for dinner at Gardens Cafe at the Curve to celebrate Rames’ birthday.

Check out the food we ordered.

This was mine. Too small portion. Dont order this.

Too dry. Better order something else.

Jacklyn ordered this. She complained that it was tasteless.

This was great according to Rames.

Group shot of us Siao Gang & Friends before we cut cake sing song.

After that we went for drinks at Craft Brews.

I experienced the iPhone 4

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

So at the iPad gathering, there was actually another agenda. An agenda so important it nearly drowned the iPads.

It was also a meetup for everyone to experience the iPhone 4. WOAHHH..
So apparently there were some of the LYN member who bought the iPhone 4 from US and UK and brought it back. Thanks to them for letting us touch and molest the iPhone.

So here we go. There were four iPhone 4 at the meetup I think. This one was still in the box and the plastic was still attached to the screen and back of the phone.

I can say that it’s about 3/4 the thickness of 3Gs.. which means its DAMN THIN. Built was very solid, since it was all glass with metal rims if not mistaken.

Since this one was still not activated, all we could do was just posed with it. hahaha. We played with the other ones and kept this in the box soon after.

Everyone was busy taking photos and playing with it. ahahah

We tried everything including the superbly awesome 5mpx camera with touch to focus (both photo and 720p HD video) and also Facetime(video call)!

The new Retina Display on the iPhone 4 is THE CLEAREST, MOST HI-RES, MOST VIBRANT, SHARPEST DISPLAY I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. … I AM SERIOUS. You will definitely say WOW when you see it. Trust me. This is a shot to compare the screen between the iPhone 4 and the 3Gs. Photos cannot show how clear it is. You need to see it with your own eyes.

Another shot I took to try and show how clear the screen is.. but it’s no where near there. The text on the screen was like 10x clearer than laser printed text on paper. Notice this iPhone has the Apple original black bumper case around it.

Ok the rest of the time everyone was just trying to play with the iPhone 4. Thats it. Kthxbye.

The LYN iPad Gathering

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Some time back, members of the LYN forum iPad thread organised a meetup at Starbucks KLCC for members to get to know each other and also to play with the Apple iPad.

Members with the device volunteered to put out their iPads for members who doesnt own one to play with them which eventually will ‘poison’ them to buy one. LOL

Some of us. A lot more ppl came and I didnt have the chance to capture them in photos. (everyone was busy playing with the iDevices)

As you can see, there were more than just iPads. There was a Macbook Pro, some iPhone 3Gs.. and erm… something else… (will be revealed tomorrow).

So basically the whole session was about the games, the graphics and what the iPad can do.

Everyone enjoyed the iPad much.

We were discussing about how to jailbreak the iPad LOL

Azrin was busy playing Angry Birds.

I risked myself by collecting all the iPads for these shot. If anyone of these dropped.. then they sure kill me. haha. Which one is mine? LOL

Oh I also got myself the original Apple casing for my iPad recently. Here’s an unboxing video of it (for those who are interested)

NEXT UP: Experiencing the iPhone 4.

Nian Gao at Ewin’s!

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Ok one of the last visits during Chinese New Year few months ago… was to Ewin’s house! Some of us were invited; Mynjayz, Bryan, YvonneSim, Leonard, Yinxie, Jon and me.

We were chillin in his room. He then showed us his collection of yoyos. FUAH! We all were shocked. hahah. Memang Yoyo Sifu ni.

Aunty were kind enough to prepare some hot and sticky “Nian Gao” for us to eat. Nian gao is like some sticky glutinuous rice thingymajig which symbolises “progression”… good luck in Chinese beliefs.

Super nice! The nian gao tasted a lot better when warm and dipped in coconut.

Ewin’s dad is a gym instructor and he has a lot og body building equipments at home. He was showing us some gym materials and equipments and got us excited and wanted to try.

He then guided us on some exercises. ahahha

We had fun la overall. Learnt some stuff about building body.

Ok the night ended with a group shot.

All the furniture in Ewin’s house is red. Wahlao… really HUAT AH!

Highschool Poon Choy at Dragon-i

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

More photos from CNY!

Before visiting Ampang Gang, I actually went for lunch at Dragon-I with my high school friends. It was also sort of like a yearly meet up.

Whoa these girls were there earliest! Havent seen them for a year.. lol

Every meal during Chinese New Year must have YeeSang!!!

We then took some photos together. All the guys.

The manager at the restaurant kept recommending this Prosperity Poon Choy.. so we ordered one pot. When it came we compared it with the brochure ahhaha

A shot with them girls..

A close up of the poon choy. It’s actually a big claypot with ingredients like abalone, oysters, clams, chicken, pork, mushroom, vege.. and many many more..

Ok thats it! Group shot time.
