Bye Pudu! Hello Pavilion!

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Last post from the Pudu streetshoot!

After sweating bucketloads, we thought of going to Pavilion.. which was nearby… to grab some air cond. lol

So we took the monorail to Bukit Bintang.

Walked 5 minutes and finally arrived at Pavilion! The walk in Pudu made us feel like we were back in the past… these modern buildings at Bukit Bintang gave us a feeling like we were home again.. ehhehe

As if aircond was not enough, we went to eat snow!

Yummy Snowflake Bestseller… my favourite!

So while eating and chilling… we were talking about what our impression was towards Pudu….

“So what do you think of Pudu?”

Not their exact words but lebih kurang lah.. lol

OK Lah … thats it… Pudu ends here :D

Pudu #6: Jumping, Posing & Roti Canai

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

This is Pudu Streetshoot Chapter 6.

Chapter 1: The Legendary Hakka Noodles
Chapter 2: Spiral Hawkers
Chapter 3: Signs, boards, and signboards.
Chapter 4: Wet Market, Charsiew & Sleepycat
Chapter 5: She’s a butcher

We finally came to one of the open space in the market. Sky was bright clear and blue so we thought.. why not we whip out our flashes and take a posing shot with wireless flash.

We spent 10 minuted tryin to get the settings right.. LOL

Finally! The posers shot! :D

We were shocked to see an old old lady staring at us pulling her trolley… did we block her way? hehe sorry ya :P

We then walked out of the market and made our way back to where we started. Saw this mamak stall with some happy people there making roti canai. Hello macha!

… and we did the smashpop Jump at one of the backlanes. Good job WeiXiong and Eujuin! :D (More smashpOp Jumps in my Jumpilation Gallery)

NEXT UP: From Pudu to Pavilion!

Pudu #4: Wet Market, Charsiew & Sleepycat

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

This is part 4 of my Pudu Street Shoot Series.

After walking around Jalan Pasar for 30 minutes, we entered the wet market. We were there at about lunch time so the market was actually closing for the day.

This is Pudu #4. Eujuin says “sun so hot my eyes cannot open!”

First stall we saw upon entering the wet market area.. ppl selling chicken! I bet they were thinking “jailbreak me!”

Many stalls have closed and all we could see were just hooks used to hang their products.

The roasted meat stall was still open! Anyone here likes char siew? :D

We walked past this chinese medicine shop and a cat was sleeping on the glass cabinet at the front of the shop.

Next up… more photos from the wet market!

Pudu #3: Signs, boards, and signboards.

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Pudu Streetshoot #1 here and #2 here.

… and this is episode 3. Our next stop, Jalan Pasar, one of the most happening roads in Pudu (or used to).

I guess the people here are of a lower income… or they just love to borrow money from loan sharks.

I was walking past some shophouses and I suddenly noticed a guy standing at the top of this fleet of stairs looking out the window. I stood there for a while and he didnt move an inch. He must have been very bored.. staying alone… or probably just waiting for someone.

WeiXiong quickly stopped and changed lens as we walked to the main road towards the wet market.

At the bus stop, an old couple were just talking to each other. The umbrella hat caught my eye.

Jalan Pasar is famous for the electronics shops and street hawkers. We can see here a bunch of men surrounding this seller promoting some ‘magic oil’.. hmm we didnt dare to walk close.

Next up. The Pasar Rd. wet market.

Pudu #2: Spiral Hawkers

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Let’s get back to our Pudu Streetshoot Series. This is Episode 2.

After eating hakka noodles, we started off our walk. Wei Xiong says “let’s go”.

At the back lanes, we saw clothes hanging outside room windows. The shophouses there were only 4 storeys tall, they used to be called high rise buildings back then.

Walked past Pudu Plaza and there were hawkers selling food at the entrance.

A closer look. This lady was selling fried stuff… tofu, fishballs, etc.

We walked slowly and examined some of the abandoned shoplots there… I wish I could go in and walk up the spiral stairs… wonder whats on the 2nd floor… hmm

Even the address board was broken. This shows how long the shoplots have been vacant. How long more will these buildings be here?

We spent a few minutes here talking and playing with this little kid. The mother seems to be very friendly and was smiling when we snapped her son.

MORE TOMORROW. WE VISITED THE WET MARKET :D

Sony Alpha NEX Launch Event

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Attended the Sony Alpha Nex3 & Nex5 launch event just now at Teeq Brassarie, Rooftop Lot 10.

This is just a brief post, more in October.

The venue was nice, very spacious, has some urban look BUT aircond sucks.. lol it was as if there was no aircond. Everyone was sweating.

The event started with some dancers showing off the new NEX cameras with style aka blinded lol.

Then came Mr. Toru Katsumoto from Japan, Senior General Manager, Imaging Div of Sony Corp to introduce the camera and to launch it officially.

The Alpha NEX3 and NEX5 are the worlds smallest, lightest and thinnest camera with interchangeable lens, and has the same APSC sensor as other Alpha dSLRS. Records 1080p HD videos too.

The NEX3 with 18-55mm lens.

The NEX5 with 16mm f2.8 Pancake lens.

So far, they have only announced the price for NEX5 + 18-55mm lens, which is RM2699. No price mentioned for NEX3 yet as well as other lenses.

Towards the end of the event we all camho-d all the way.. as usual ahahha

Alpha Trio. :)

OK More in October!
