I’ve recently got a new toy and it is none other than the recently launched HP Pavilion X2! It’s not just a tablet or a laptop. It’s an ultra-portable convertible tablet! That’s amazing cos you get the best of both worlds and still enjoy the lightweight and flexible form.
Come come let me show you some photos I took of the X2 in my beautiful room with white tables and walls. Haha!
For those who wants to know about the specs, the X2 is powered by the latest generation Intel Atom “Bay Trail-T” processor (Atom Z3745D with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage) and runs on Windows 8,1.
If you are not familiar with these terms, it basically means CANGGIH.
Now when we are carrying a tablet, we definitely don’t want to be lugging a gigantic screen right? This is why I think the X2 is the perfect size for being portable. Love the 10-inch HD WLED-backlit display.
As you can see, I like my background to be full black so it matches the body of the tablet. One thing to note though, the screen is actually quite reflective so you will most probably see yourself in the screen when you are using it outdoors.
Recently I’ve grown interest in phones with dual front speakers and this X2 has it as well!
If you look closely in the photo above, you will notice the front-facing speakers with DTS sound which is placed on both sides of the screen. They are indeed loud when used indoors but may not be sufficient if you are trying to watch a movie while waiting for the bus at the bus stop. If you know what I mean lah.
Oh look! My tech blog discovr.smashpop.net looks so awesome on the 10-inch screen of the HP Pavilion X2.
Oh if you are wondering if the battery lasts, let me tell you this. It lasted me a full day from morning til after dinner at night with regular usage of browsing, Youtube and some office work. After all, the X2 is powered with a long-lasting 2-cell 35Whr battery that is said to last up to 11.45 hours.
Oh that’s a good looking guy using the Pavilion X2. He looks exactly like me. Haha!
Anyway, see how the tablet is now looking like a laptop allowing me to sip my coffee while doing work? Scroll down a bit and I shall reveal the magic.
OK scroll down a bit more.
Tada! This is the magical keyboard with hinge that magnetically snaps onto the Pavilion X2 and turns it into a laptop thingy.
The magnetic cover comes in 2 colours; teal and purple. I personally prefer this one cos it is more soothing to the eyes.
This is how it looks like from the side. To be honest, I am quite obsessed with my white table and wall.
I was half expecting the touch screen to be disabled once docked but to my surprise, it still works even in this form! Good job lah HP. Now I can type and swipe at the same time. Who needs a mouse anymore right?
Oh I just love carrying it around with me nowadays. So convenient and portable.
Here’s another thing to note: The X2 supports WiDi (compatible with Miracast devices), in case you want to project your screen to the wall or something. It also includes a few number of ports; USB 3.0, micro-USB 2.0, HDMI, card reader and 3.5mm mic-headphone jack.
The HP Pavilion x2 retailed at RM1,199.00. Every purchase of the tablet includes a 1-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal Edition.
