If you are looking for a new place to dine in KL, here’s one. KAIJU COMPANY is a new restaurant at APW Bangsar and it serves food with a blend of Thai and Japanese elements.
I was there for the soft opening just few days ago and was pleasantly surprised by food offerings and the creativity put into blending the 2 Asian tastes and elements together.
It’s just beside Breakfast Thieves and although it’s not a very big restaurant, it felt very ’boutique’ and the interior decor is top notch.
Customers are welcomed with an origami dragon hanging from above the ceiling. If you are an Instagrammer, this is the place to be.
The first item I tried was ‘555 Salmon Tata’. It has raw salmon on mashed potato, served with wasabi garlic oil and truffle oil. The taste is heavenly. I melt every single time I put it in my mouth. Like super recommended. The little crunchy pieces in the mashed potato makes it even more awesome. It’s ‘secret ingredient’ according to them. RM28.
This is Sake + Lemongrass. With salt dipped on the mouth of the glass, every sip is salty, fragrant and a little spicy. Very refreshing. RM20.
Thonglor Chicken is basically friend chicken with garlic sauce, served with Shishito and vege. It tastes very much like those Korean styled chicken though. Still yummy. I finished the whole plate by myself 😀 RM22.
The dessert is out of this world. Vanilla ice cream served with grapes which have been marinated with red wine. Bite it and red wine explodes into every corner of the mouth. Simple amazing. Another recommended item.
