Panasonic Lumix GM1 In Malaysia – Unboxing & First Look [Video]

Hello. If you have been following my Instagram, you should have noticed my new toy which I got recently. It’s the Panasonic Lumix GM1!
It’s a mirrorless micro four third camera with 16 megapixels sensor with interchageable lens and the most important thing is that the GM1 is so small, it’s even smaller than the iPhone!

Before we move on with the unboxing, here are some feature highlights:
– Built-in Wi-Fi
– 3.0-inch, 1036K dot touchscreen LCD
1080 HD video recording at 60i/30p
1/16,000 maximum shutter speed (with all-electronic shutter)
– Focus peaking
– Picture-in-picture magnification for manual focus
– Micro HDMI output

Let’s unbox! Best way to show it to you is in video of course, so watch this!

To have a full view of what comes in the box, here’s a top view shot for you.

The box contains: The GM1, 2 charging cable, 1 USB cable, 1 lanyard, 1 battery charger, manuals CD and warranty card.

So before we move on with a complete review and sample photos, here are some of the impressions the GM1 gave to people that I showed it to.

Before I got the camera, I’ve already head about its size. I never thought it can be so small! The GM1 measures at 98.5 x 54.9 x 30.4 mm. In our review, we will compare it with some of the things we see daily. Stay tuned for that.

Yup. My friends were impressed that it has a 3-inch touchscreen and I myself was impressed to find out that its a capacitive screen, just like our mobile phones. We can even pinch-to-zoom or double tap on photos to magnify them. Watch the video above to see the demo I did.

The GM1 comes in 4 colours; Black, Silver, White and Orange. The outlook is very classic, magnesium-alloy shell with aluminum top and bottom plates with leather-like materials all around the grip area to prevent it from slipping from our grip.

So there you go, first look and unboxing of Panasonic’s latest mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens. Full review with sample photos and video will be up in a few days time. Stay tuned!
