This is probably the best Char Siew you’ll find in Kuala Lumpur

I heard from some friends recently that the best Char Siew in KL is at Jalan Pudu Ulu, Cheras and today I managed to squeeze some time to visit the place to find the talked-about Char Siew stall.

Located just below Menara PGRM and just 5 minutes walk away from AEON Maluri, Char Siew Yoong is a humble looking shop with super big green signage outside. Once you arrive at the street, I’m sure you won’t miss it.

I was welcomed by the view of roast pork and BBQ chicken hanging under the spotlight and the owners were very busy chopping, slicing and preparing the orders.

Without wasting time (I was super hungry lol), I quickly ordered the popular Char Siew to try.
The outer later is caramelized and is very crunchy. The moment I put a piece into my mouth, the meat felt so juicy, soft & tender! Guess what, they instantly melt in my mouth. WAHLAO!

But I think it’s kinda expensive. This plate of Char Siew costs RM18.

To those who love ‘Siu Yuk’, this one confirm ONZ. The skin was super crunchy and the combination of meat and fat layers will definitely leave you wanting more.

Again, the pricing is a bit high as well. This plate costs me RM19.

The fried bean sprout was average. Nothing to shout about. RM3.90

When I was there, I noticed that the patrons were mostly older people. Most likely those staying around Pudu Ulu, Maluri and Cheras.
